Matthew 4:19-20

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed Him.
Matthew 4:19-20

Morning Jesus!
You are so wonderful and I look forward to this time with You every morning. I love reading Your Word and having You reveal new insights to me each time. It is the desire of Your heart to teach me and I want so much to learn. Thank You for being my God!

How many times have I read this scripture? I know in my heart that You called Peter and Andrew to discipleship with You. I also know that they left everything they were doing to just sit at your feet and learn.

What seemed to jump out at me this morning was, at once. They dropped their nets, they left their companions and followed You right then.

Oh Jesus, to be able to hear You calling me and for me to leave whatever I’m doing and follow is my desire. I don’t want to say, just a minute LORD, or, let me finish what I’m doing and I will be right with You. No, I want to be like Peter and Andrew and follow You at once. Not when it’s convenient, or when I think I’m ready, but when You call.

Today help me to tune Your voice in, clear my mind so I can hear You clearly, but then I need Your courage and strength to follow Your calling, immediately. I know Spirit, that You will be my guide and I have nothing to fear when You are with me. I love You so very much!
Amen

Proverbs 3:1

My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store My commands in your heart.
Proverbs 3:1

Good Morning My Teacher!
What a delight it is to sit at Your feet and learn from the Master of the Universe. To think that You consider me worthy enough to teach, is alone a joy to my heart. Thank You for being here with me this morning.

My memory isn’t all that good Spirit. I have a hard time remembering Your Word and the teachings You give. Yet, it’s really not an option for me, is it? Your Word this morning tells me to never forget what You teach.

I want to remember, Spirit, it’s not that I don’t. So I realize now that I really need You to help me remember. Please help me to memorize Your Word as You give it to me. Help me to get it in my mind so I can live it in my life.

If I need to write them down in my own journal, Spirit, help me to be faithful to write. If I need to post them on my refrigerator to continually see them, help me to be faithful to post them. Whatever You have in mind, I need Your help.

I’ll start with this verse, Spirit. Today I will carry it around with me all day long, thinking on it, memorizing it, and store it in my heart!
Amen

Job 23:10-12

But He knows where I am going. And when He tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed His ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from His commands, but have treasured His words more than daily food.
Job 23:10-12

Good Morning Father,
Oh my goodness, Your Word is a delight to my heart and a path for my feet. You show me new and wonderful insights into Your heart every morning and I am so grateful.

To know, Abba, that You know exactly where I’m going and where I am all through the day, gives me such security. You are always right there with me, even when I don’t ‘feel’ Your presence. Thank You.

I know, Father, there are times You will test me. I have had some in the past and I know there will be more in the future. You know my heart, but You want me to know it also. You want me to know that it’s not always the warm, fuzzy feeling I have when I’m with You that matters. You want me to trust in Your Word, stand firm and not be moved.

I want to follow Your ways, I don’t want to turn aside and I want to follow Your commands. But I am weak, LORD. I need Your Spirit to sustain me. I also know that it’s your heart’s desire, Spirit, to be with me.

So today I will rely on Your Word and Spirit to keep me going. I will treasure what I read and place it in my heart, so I can live the life You created me to live. I love You, Abba.
Amen

Psalm 70:4

But may all who search for You be filled with joy and gladness in You. May those who love Your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!”
Psalm 70:4

Morning My Jesus!
The earth is at peace as the day begins. There isn’t any wind and the birds have yet to wake. You are here now, as You always are and always will be. You have protected me through the night and awaken me to Your glorious presence. I love You!

As I search for You in every moment of this day, please fill me with Your joy. I know it is Your desire to show me Your ways and Your love to guide me. Help me to see You in every person I meet. I know some I will have to look deeper than others, but I want to see Your work in their lives. Help me, Jesus, to see beyond the surface, to see them as You do.

I’m just beginning to open my mind to understand that You are in every moment, even what I would call the ugly ones. I just have to look for You. When I do, I know that You will bless me with Your joy.

I want to shout all day long about how great You are.
My passion, Jesus, is to live my life to glorify You! I love You!
Amen

Psalm 106:1-2

Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise Him enough?
Psalm 106:1 & 2

Good Morning Father,
I have to agree with the psalmist this morning. You are everything that is good and righteous.

Your faithfulness in all things is the same today and it was a thousand years ago and will be in the future.

Your amazing miracles could never be listed, for they happen every moment of the day.

And, I can never praise You enough. I want to give You honor and glory today. I want to lift Your Name on high, so everyone will know You are my God.

I love You beyond what my words can say. You are my very life!
Amen

Habakkuk 3:19

The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.
Habakkuk 3:19

Good Morning My Wonderful King,
You are the delight of my life and the joy to my heart. I am always so humbled, yet so honored that You would find me worthy to be called Your child. To be so loved by the Master of the Universe, oh, how I love You!

You are my strength, Abba. I could not do this life without You being right here with me. I would not know which way to turn if it were not for Your guidance.

You are guiding me to new heights in my walk with You. Everyday You encourage me to take another step of faith. You never give up on me or get frustrated when I delay.

Abba, I want to please You today with obedience. Even if it makes me uncomfortable, I want to respond to Your call. Whatever I may face today, help me to remember You will be the one speaking, loving and guiding, all I have to do is be willing.

You my King, make my life soar!
Amen

Philippians 1:6

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6

Good Morning Jesus,
Once again You delight me with Your mercies that are new every morning. You keep on giving me gracious gifts. You are now and forever and I love You!

I thank You for Your Word this morning, Jesus. It reminds me that You will never give up on me, even though I feel like giving up on myself. I mess up so many times in a day, yet, You are always there forgiving me when I ask for forgiveness. When I stray down the wrong path, You gently nudge me back closer to You. Regardless of what I may do, You will always be my God.

However, I want to please You, to bring a smile to Your face and joy to Your heart. So help me, Spirit, to walk closely with You. You have begun a good work in me, but I need Your help to complete it. It is so reassuring to know that You will continue Your work, despite all my failures. You keep on picking me up, brushing me off, and giving me encouragement to try again. You are a joy to my heart and I love You!
Amen

2 Corinthians 3:16-17

But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:16-17

Good Morning Jesus,
Thank You for being my LORD and Savior. You have not only washed me of my sins, You have given me Your presence for every moment. I am so blessed.

I thank You Jesus, for this country I live in. For the freedom to worship and proclaim You as my God. For the freedom to become the person You created me to be and to live it publicly. I also want to thank You for the many men and women who have defended this country throughout it’s history. They are so special and I ask that You will bless them with Your presence today.

Yet, I know LORD, that I have another freedom. I have the freedom to be in Your Spirit, to know Your will and ways. What joy and excitement You have given me when I chose to live for You.

I love to be reminded that when I turn to You, the veil of confusion will be removed from my eyes. Although I can’t see You clearly now, I know that someday I will see You face to face and every detail of Your wonderful being.

I ask that You will be with the people of this country, Jesus. I desire to see a revival for You, to see many depending on You for everyday needs. We are a country of ease and sometimes we forget You. Please breathe on Your children, help us to break out of our shells and to live for Your glory. Most of all, I know that if I want to see a revival, it has to begin with me. Please give me Your strength and courage to glorify You today with all that I am.

I love You!
Amen

Job 37:23-24

We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though He is just and righteous, He does not destroy us. No wonder people everywhere fear Him. All who are wise show Him reverence.”
Job 37:23-24

Good Morning My Almighty LORD,
The day is already getting busy and it’s so early. Help me to focus on You right now. Please surround me with Your presence so I can draw from Your strength for the day.

I thank You for this time to be with You, LORD. Your faithfulness and love are so important to me and I need it moment by moment to sustain my life.

I have no idea as to the awesome power You have. You have created the Universe and sustain it through time. You hold all the planets and stars in place, You bring the winds and rain to this world and created a perfect place for us to grow.

Yet, in mankind’s selfish attitude, we demanded more. We chose to take part in evil and fell from Your grace. You had the power to destroy us, but because of Your love, You sent Your son, You made us righteous through Him. How great Your love is for us.

Father, I want to always give You reverence and honor with my life. Help me always to show respect for Your name. My desire is to give You glory for the love You have poured into me. I love You Father!
Amen

Psalm 23:1

The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
Psalm 23:1

Morning my Jesus!
What a wonderful way to start the day, to be reminded that You are my LORD. You are Yahweh, the Great I AM. You spoke life into creation. You breathed life into man. And, this morning, You great me with the knowledge that You are my God and also my shepherd.

I love how You use language I can understand. A shepherd is responsible for the sheep under his care. He protects them, leads them to water and food, but what I love, is a sheep will respond to the shepherd’s voice. The sheep knows his Master’s voice. Oh, how I want to know Your voice above all others.

On the other hand, Jesus, sheep aren’t too smart. In fact, they’re kind of dumb. Which is very true of me. I think I have all this knowledge and wisdom, but it’s nothing to You. I am easily lead astray, deceived and really can’t even take care of myself.

With You as my shepherd I can feel secure. Help me to know Your voice and follow. Please teach me Your way and provide all I need. With You at the center of my life I want to praise You in everything I do today!

I love You, my precious Jesus!
Amen
