Micah 5:2

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past.
Micah 5:2

Good Morning My King,
It seems like the night went way too fast. I don’t feel rested and I’m still very tired.

Please forgive me for not being my best this morning. Thank You for drawing me to You.

I kind of feel like I’m left out of the crowd right now, Father. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything all that important for Your Kingdom. I do feel like I’m serving where You have called me, but shouldn’t I be doing more?

How wonderful Your Word is this morning, You have reminded me that even if I feel insignificant in the work I’m doing, I don’t have to feel small and unimportant!

Out of Bethlehem, which was considered a nothing village, You chose that village for Your Son to be born in. At that moment, You put Bethlehem on the map forever.

I don’t really want to be important, LORD, I just needed the encouragement that my work for You is important. And, my Jesus, You always give me that encouragement just when it’s needed the most!

Whatever I do today, I will do it for the King and take joy in doing it!
I love You so very much Jesus!
Amen

John 17:3

And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth.
John 17:3

Good Morning Abba,
You are so special to me, You guide me, counsel and teach me something new every moment. Your passion to give me wisdom and understanding amazes me. There are times I think I may explode with my love for You!

It seems like we talk a lot about heaven and eternal life, and that’s good! It’s Your desire for me to live with You always. But You are here, in this world, right now. I cannot imagine my life without having You right beside me everyday. I can take peace and joy to know that I will be with You in heaven, but it’s the adventure of this life with You, that is so exciting.

I want to really get to know You Abba, not just know about You, but to see into Your heart and thoughts. I want to understand Your Word, to memorize and meditate on it each day. Most important I want to live Your Word so others may come to know the preciousness of You! I Love You Abba!
Amen

John 8:12

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
John 8:12

Good Morning My Jesus,
The sweet aroma of Your love surrounds me this morning and I want to shout to the world that You are my God! I want the world to know how wonderful You are and that they can have Your presence in their lives also.

The Christmas lights are still up around my neighborhood, Jesus. It’s so exciting to see them glow in the dark and to see the different lights.

As I walked down my street last night, I was reminded that You are the Light in my life. You came to show me the right way to live and love. I confess that I don’t always want to live that way, sometimes the darkness seems a good way to hide my faults.

Yet, You are always reminding me that the darkness cannot put out the light. Please forgive me for trying to hide from You. Wash me in Your Light, forgive me of my sins and give Me Your strength to turn from the darkness.

As I go through the day, Father, let me think on You as the Light. Each time I see a Christmas light, remind me how You have come to so many different people, with the one message, ‘Come to Me.’
Amen

Luke 2:12

And you will recognize Him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:12

Good Morning My Jesus,
It’s here! The morning we celebrate Your arrival into this world, the day heaven and earth met. What a journey You took, all for me, to be able to be with You this morning. You gave up Your throne for a manager, Your mighty power to be a dependent baby, Your glory to be common. I really can’t understand the completeness of Your love, but I can take joy in being with You this day.

I must confess, LORD, that trying to imagine You laying in a manager, a small confined place, is very hard to do. You, who created the Universe and this world with just words, compacted down to fit in a feed box, that alone is a miracle.

What I realize this morning, is that I still have You in a box. You have given me so many gifts and yet, I leave them unopened. I guess I may be afraid of what might be in that box. If I open it, there might be a change in my life and I won’t know what to do about it. I am so unsure, Jesus, please help me to open Your gift to me this year.

When I think that You once fit in that feeding box, but You grew out of it, helps me to have courage to let You out of my box. You’re not going to jump out and be a huge ‘genie’. You will meet me where I’m at, in that small box, You will take me by the hand and lift me out and help me to grow. I want to remember, Jesus, that You created that box to be a starting point for our relationship together. But, You never intend for it to stay that small, You have the desire for our relationship to grow, beyond the box I keep it in.

As I celebrate the day of Your new life in this world, Jesus, I want to give my life to You again, to rededicate my love for You, to open the box and enjoy the development of Your gift. I no longer want to be afraid of where You will take me, the changes You will ask, the adventure of living with You. I love You beyond all my words, Jesus!
Happy Birthday!

Psalm 18:16

He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters.
Psalms 18:16

Good Morning Yahweh,
The morning is crisp as the day dawns. My list seems to be getting longer instead of shorter. My body is getting tired. But, right now, Father, I’m with You and I will be refreshed and renewed by Your Spirit. How precious this time is for me, to spend these moments with my Creator and King. I praise You for the Hope of this day.

I feel like the Psalmist this morning Father. I feel like the waters of the season are drawing me down. It seems like I still have so much to accomplish before tomorrow, I’m getting discourage and don’t feel like I will complete it all. I don’t want to disappoint my family and friends by not getting done the things I wanted to do for them.

Your Word; how grateful I am that You have placed it before me today. To know that You will take care of the needs and demands of this day, LORD. Your Word gives me strength to continue. I will need You to help me to know what I need to do and let all the rest go. Please help me to organize my day around Your presence.

What I want desperately to remember today, Father, is that this season is for You, not all the other stuff we do. Help me to not disappoint You above anyone else. I want to put a smile on Your face today!
Amen

John 17:17

Make them holy by Your truth; teach them Your word, which is truth.
John 17:17

Good Morning Father,
What a refreshing morning You have given me. To begin with, I’m here with You, hearing You speak to me, letting me love You back. I praise You for Your mercy that is new to me this day.

Father, I love the way You teach me, the people You have placed around me to help me grow. The times where I read Your Word and You clarify it for me. You are truly amazing.

I want to always learn the truth of Your Word. You remind me about 2 Peter 1:20 & 21 where it says, First, you must understand this: No prophecy in Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation. No prophecy ever originated from humans. Instead, it was given by the Holy Spirit as humans spoke under God’s direction.

What I’ve learned is it’s not to be my own opinion, but Your truth. Help me to read the Scriptures through Your eyes.

Thank You for being my King!
Amen

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

Good morning my Jesus,
Thank You for just being You! When I stop to think of all You have done for me and then everything You do for everyone else, my mind just doesn’t have the ability to understand how great You are.
You have given me the rest I needed. Yesterday was a very busy one, LORD. You know I hardly sat down. There was just so much to finish up for the day. Yet, even in my business, You kept me close to Your heart. I knew You were always there.
Today has the possibility to be much slower. There are still things to finish up, but I think the stress stuff is all done. I know You will be with me throughout my work.
There will be many things going on over the next few days, preparation for Christmas Eve, fixings for dinners, wrapping up the last presents. Your Word this morning reminds me that You will be there, the same as You were yesterday, today, and all the tomorrows. Do You know how reassuring those words are? I’m sure You do or You wouldn’t have said them! I love You, Jesus, You are my forever!
Amen

Isaiah 49:9-11

O Zion, messenger of good news, shout from the mountaintops! Shout it louder, O Jerusalem. Shout, and do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Judah,“Your God is coming!” Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm. See, He brings His reward with Him as He comes. He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in His arms, holding them close to His heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
Isaiah 40:9-11

Good Morning Jesus,
You have come! I can just imagine how the prophets of Isaiah wanted everyone to realize that You were coming. How they must have looked forward to Your arrival.

Yet, it was many years before You did come. And how many years was it before I saw You coming to me? I praise You Jesus for pursuing and loving me. I thank You for opening my eyes to Your coming.

As the days move forward, I want to celebrate the day of Your birth with spiritual eyes, Jesus. I want to anticipate the days and see what You will bring.

I am so appreciative that I live on this side of the cross, Jesus. To know Your love and hope gives my life a purpose. I look forward to this day, to prepare for Your coming once more into my life.

How I love that You carry me close to Your heart, so I can hear the steady beat of life!
Amen

John 13:34-35

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that You are my disciples.”
John 13:34-35

Good Morning Jesus,
How fresh the air is this morning, how beautiful the colors of the sky, and how wonderful to sit in Your love and just be.

You tell me, Jesus, that You want me to love everyone I meet. That’s kind of hard sometimes. With the season of stress building, even people in the grocery stores are short of patience. No one wants to be kind or generous, everyone just wants to get done what they have to do and go to the next project. When people bite my head off for just being the right person at the right time, it’s hard to love them.

However, that’s just what You are asking me to do, especially when others are grumpy and short. What better time to be loving people as we celebrate Your birth!

What caught my attention this morning, Jesus, is that You said my love for others will prove that I am Your disciple. I’ve never really thought about loving as proof of Your presence. In a world that wants concrete facts about everything, what better action to do than to love those who are grumpy and short with me! I want to prove to the world You live, that You are real and alive. I can’t do it alone, LORD. When someone is edgy with me today, help me draw on Your enormous pool of love and prove to them that You are LORD of my life!
I love You!
Amen

Psalm 119:142-144

As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands. Your laws are always right; help me to understand them so I may live.
Psalm 119:143:144

Good Morning Jesus!
I thank You for giving me a reason to get up this morning. I thank You for giving me this life to live for You. Even when I’m tired and worn out, I know that I will move and live and exist in Your presence today!

Jesus, things are so extremely busy right now. You know how this culture pushes us to do so much at Christmas. I know that is not the way You would have me live, but I still have to work and pay bills and get ready for all the activities of the month. There are times I feel like an old time pressure cooker and I’ll explode with on more need placed on me.

I thank You so much, Jesus, for being my relief valve right now. Your Word this morning tells me I can find joy in Your scriptures. Please guide me to one I can memorize and meditate on today. Help me to focus on You through the day.

Please help me also, to be careful when I commit to something, remind me to come to You first. I don’t want to be so stressed, I want to be a light for You. Show me what needs to be done and what I can let go of.

Thank You for being my LORD and Savior!
Amen
