1 Thessalonians 3:12

And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.
1 Thessalonians 3:12

Good Morning Jesus,
What a delight and wonder to be here with You this morning. You help me wake up, You prepare me for the day to come, but most of all, You love me as I am.

I know that before You came to be the King of my soul, I was selfish, more selfish than I still am. You have shown me how to love and serve others, You have shown me how to be Your servant.

What I am most amazed about, Jesus, is how You have poured Your love into me so I can love others with Your love. Those people who I thought I could never even like, I’ve learned to love them! You are amazing.

Yet, I know Jesus, that for me to continue loving them, I need to be continually with You. I need the river of Your love flowing into me so I don’t become stagnate.

I want to overflow with Your love for all the people that I meet today. I want them to know You personally. You are my Love!
Amen

Genesis 35:2-4

So Jacob told everyone in his household, “Get rid of all your pagan idols, purify yourselves, and put on clean clothing. We are now going to Bethel, where I will build an altar to the God who answered my prayers when I was in distress. He has been with me wherever I have gone.” So they gave Jacob all their pagan idols and earrings, and he buried them under the great tree near Shechem.
Genesis 35:2-4

Good Morning Yahweh,
You are so wonderful, my words could never, ever give You the right praise. I am so limited to tell You how much You mean to me. I praise You for searching my heart and knowing what my mouth cannot say. I praise You for being my everything!

When am I going to learn, Father? I am no different than Jacob and his family was so many years ago. You command me to worship You and You alone. You tell me again and again not to collect idols. Yet, here I am again, knowing that I have placed ‘things’ in my life above You. I don’t mean for them to become idols, I may even think that You have blessed me with these ‘things’ to further Your Kingdom. Please forgive me Father, help me to bury my attitude toward them as Jacob buried the actual idols. And, the ‘things’ that I shouldn’t have in my life at all, please show me, so I can get rid of them.

You are so wonderful to teach me how I should live. You are so patient with my slow learning. It is my heart’s desire to please You and worship You and You alone!
Amen

Lamentations 2:22-24

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!”
Lamentations 3:22-24

Good Morning My Love,
I can never get tired of knowing that Your love will never end. It is knowledge that makes me secure in Your presence.

You remind me this morning of Your mercies that never cease and each morning is a fresh start. Your faithfulness to me is beyond anything that I deserve. You show Your faithfulness from the rise of the morning sun to the placement of the stars at night and all the in-betweens. How I love You!

As a new year begins, please help me to lean into You more each day. When new or difficult challenges in my life arise, remind me that You are my inheritance, You have already given me all I need and more. When I am uncertain of the day, I want to place my hope and life in You, for You are forever!

Thank You so much for being my Companion and LORD!
Amen

Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I AM with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

Good Morning Jesus,
Thank You for the time You spend with me each morning. I give praise to You, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, who takes time to sit with me, so I can get to know You. You are my God and I love You!

Discipleship. What a scary term Jesus. To discipleship someone, I first have to become a disciple. You know I love sitting with You, studying Your scriptures and even sharing Your wisdom with a few people. But, to go out and really get busy with discipling others? I think You must have been thinking of someone else instead of me.

As I read Your Word this morning I realize You weren’t thinking of someone else, it’s what You have called me to be and to do. I may not be the next Billy Graham, but You have asked me to disciple my family, my friends, those who I come in contact with each day. You are asking me to just tell someone about Your amazing love and grace. You are asking me to be Your voice in my corner of the world.

I don’t have to have a Phd to disciple Your people. I just have to be obedient to Your call. What I need to remember is, as I step out in faith to speak Your Words, is that I will not be alone. You will be with me forever.
Amen

Ephesians 3:18-19

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Ephesians 3:18-19

Morning Jesus!
Oh my goodness, how wonderful You are to me. You have provided such a wonderful morning and have come to spend time with me! I am so honored that the King of the Universe would find me worthy. I love You so very much!

Jesus, I know Your love for me is amazingly faithful. I would have given up on me along ago, yet, You have always been knocking and asking me to be Your child. I want so much to live in a close fellowship with You. I want to know of Your wonder and majesty. Today, please keep me close by Your side.

Thank You so much for Your Word this morning. It makes me stop and think of Your love and how much You desire to be with me. I know if I sit longer with You each day, I will come to understand Your love and the completeness it brings to my life.

Help me to think on this today. To soak in Your love, enjoy Your presence all day long, and to remember that You want me to share Your love with others in my life. I want to understand the depth of Your love and to generously give it away. You are my great and might LORD and You are the passion of my life!
Amen

Genesis 5:22

After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
Genesis 5:22

Good Morning My Majestic LORD!
What a beautiful sunrise today! I praise You for nudging me out of my warm bed in time to see it with You. You are the greatest artist with the colors You use in the sky. It was breathtaking this morning!

Your Word this morning is also wonderful. Father, how I would love to be notated in Your Book of Life, next to my name, that I live in close fellowship with You throughout my life. I praise You for telling me about Enoch and Noah and so many others, giving me the encouragement to stay with You and the passion to even get closer to You as I live. You are the breath I draw on, the wisdom I depend on and the love that makes my soul soar. What more in life do I need?

Help me today to see in Your Word something new and exciting. Help me to read and study with the anticipation of learning. Help me to have the courage and right words to share what I have found with someone in need of Your hope. Oh, how I love You my LORD!
Amen

Micah 5:2

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past.
Micah 5:2

Good Morning My King,
It seems like the night went way too fast. I don’t feel rested and I’m still very tired.

Please forgive me for not being my best this morning. Thank You for drawing me to You.

I kind of feel like I’m left out of the crowd right now, Father. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything all that important for Your Kingdom. I do feel like I’m serving where You have called me, but shouldn’t I be doing more?

How wonderful Your Word is this morning, You have reminded me that even if I feel insignificant in the work I’m doing, I don’t have to feel small and unimportant!

Out of Bethlehem, which was considered a nothing village, You chose that village for Your Son to be born in. At that moment, You put Bethlehem on the map forever.

I don’t really want to be important, LORD, I just needed the encouragement that my work for You is important. And, my Jesus, You always give me that encouragement just when it’s needed the most!

Whatever I do today, I will do it for the King and take joy in doing it!
I love You so very much Jesus!
Amen

John 14:15

“If you love Me, obey My commandments.
John 14:15

Good Morning Jesus!
I seem to be a bit sluggish this morning, but I’m here to be with You now and all will be well. I know to be in Your presence, even if I’m grumpy or glad, Your Spirit will rub off on me and I will be made new this morning. Your grace and mercy are fresh for me today and I want to be stronger in spirit with You.

You have said it very simple, Jesus, if I love You, I will obey Your commands. It’s simply said but oh, so hard for me to do. I always start the day with good intentions, but when the first worldly situation comes to my door, I seem to forget those intentions. I need You so desperately to keep Your commands each moment of the day. I realize that I can’t do it alone and maybe that’s why I fail. I will only be able to have victory when I walk with You, Spirit.

I need to remember today that You do not come and go, You are always with me. Help me to call on You today when life comes knocking, I want to draw on Your power to have victory and obey what You are calling me to do! I love You Jesus!
Amen

John 8:12

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
John 8:12

Good Morning My Jesus,
The sweet aroma of Your love surrounds me this morning and I want to shout to the world that You are my God! I want the world to know how wonderful You are and that they can have Your presence in their lives also.

The Christmas lights are still up around my neighborhood, Jesus. It’s so exciting to see them glow in the dark and to see the different lights.

As I walked down my street last night, Jesus, I was reminded that You are the Light in my life. You came to show me the right way to live and love. I confess that I don’t always want to live that way, sometimes the darkness seems a good way to hide my faults.

Yet, You are always reminding me that the darkness cannot put out the light. Please forgive me for trying to hide from You. Wash me in Your Light, forgive me of my sins and give Me Your strength to turn from the darkness.

As I go through the day, Father, let me think on You as the Light. Each time I see a Christmas light, remind me how You have come to so many different people, with the one message, ‘Come to Me.’
Amen

Luke 2:12

And you will recognize Him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:12

Good Morning My Jesus,
It’s here! The morning we celebrate Your arrival into this world, the day heaven and earth met. What a journey You took, all for me, to be able to be with You this morning. You gave up Your throne for a manager, Your mighty power to be a dependent baby, Your glory to be common. I really can’t understand the completeness of Your love, but I can take joy in being with You this day.

I must confess, LORD, that trying to imagine You laying in a manager, a small confined place, is very hard to do. You, who created the Universe and this world with just words, compacted down to fit in a feed box, that alone is a miracle.

What I realize this morning, is that I still have You in a box. You have given me so many gifts and yet, I leave them unopened. I guess I may be afraid of what might be in that box. If I open it, there might be a change in my life and I won’t know what to do about it. I am so unsure, Jesus, please help me to open Your gift to me this year.

When I think that You once fit in that feeding box, but You grew out of it, helps me to have courage to let You out of my box. You’re not going to jump out and be a huge ‘genie’. You will meet me where I’m at, in that small box, You will take me by the hand and lift me out and help me to grow. I want to remember, Jesus, that You created that box to be a starting point for our relationship together. But, You never intend for it to stay that small, You have the desire for our relationship to grow, beyond the box I keep it in.

As I celebrate the day of Your new life in this world, Jesus, I want to give my life to You again, to rededicate my love for You, to open the box and enjoy the development of Your gift. I no longer want to be afraid of where You will take me, the changes You will ask, the adventure of living with You. I love You beyond all my words, Jesus!
Happy Birthday!
